We became involved in showing German Shepherds after purchasing Edensmuir Tyson from Crawford and Helen Johnstone in 1987. Tyson gave us a lot of fun and introduced us to the Scottish show scene, and hence our decision to obtain a bitch with a view to breeding.
We purchased a bitch, Edensmuir Nyna, from the same kennel in 1988, and with the birth of our first litter in 1991 Drumwhannan German Shepherds was born. Drumwhannan is the name of the land on which our house is built, an old cottage in the village of Strathmiglo in the heart of Fife.

Our first litter to the excellent German import Exl von Batu was very successful for us giving us our first Champion, Drumwhannan Princess Dollar. 'Kara' obtained her CC's from Fiona Anderson, Percy Elliot and Andrew Winfrow.

Our next success was obtaining Amulree Lesko, who won at both Championship and Open shows (2 Res CC's), his main achievement however has been as a producer, giving us our first homebred male Champion Drumwhannan Zidan.

We were then fortunate to purchase Drumbiels Chadwick in 1997 as a 4 month old pup from Joan Dickie. 'Naz' proved to be an excellent show dog, and with 20 consecutive wins was unbeaten in his first two years of showing. Ch Drumbiels Chadwick at Drumwhannan gained his CC's from Sheila Hendrie, Victor Mcguigan, David Bowen and Bo Nyman, and also received eight reserve CC's. Tragically, at the young age of four, we lost 'Naz' to cancer. He was a true gentleman and wonderful ambassador for the breed, and leaves a very big hole in our hearts.

In 1998 we obtained quarantine born bitches from the Amulree kennels, by then established in Belgium.

These bitches formed the basis of our breeding programme for the start of the new Millenium. Mia (Amulree Salome)
has provided us with much success over the last 10 years, producing Ch Zidan, our first homebred male Champion
and Ch Kora.

In 2004 we obtained Charly van't Katrienahof, again from Amulree, Belgium.
Charly impresses with her wonderful character and has made us tremendously proud by winning top GSD in UK for 2006.

In 2008 we obtained Fame vom Holtkamper See from the highly successful German kennels of Hermann Niedergassel.
She is a grand daughter of the world famous Zamp vom Thermodos and has already produced the top winning
Drumwhannan Weronika in her first litter.
